Changes To The Website

During the next week, the Fairhaven Website will be going through some changes.  Thank you for your patience during this transition.

But why the changes?

I’m glad you asked.

The Fairhaven website was a self hosted WordPress.org website.

In other words, this means that Rachel and I where responsible for the maintenance, security, backups, and the performance of the server.

Now that I am moving it to WordPress.com, they handle all the back-end for us (maintenance, security, backups and the performance of the server).

Benefit of the move

All the back-end website stuff is all taken care of by WordPress.com at the cost of $99.00 per year for the premium plan (at the time of this writing).

Downside of the move

Less data storage, no custom theming (php or css) and no plugins.

WordPress.com verses WordPress.org.

But there is one problem. . .
The change to WordPress.com was not a perfect transition.  Everyone needs to sign up for the email updates again. 🙁
