The Save The Windows at Fairhaven United Methodist Church
The windows of Fairhaven United Methodist Church are a treasure; they are the legacy not only for members of Fairhaven United Methodist Church, but also to residents of Overbrook, and Pittsburgh since 2013 when the Fairhaven United Methodist Church building designated as a Pittsburgh Historic Landmark.
The windows date to the 1907 and are believed to have been designed by the Rudy Brothers Studio located in the East End of Pittsburgh for over a century. This studio designed and created windows for many churches in the Pittsburgh area including Calvary Episcopal Church and Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
The Save The Windows fundraising campaign began in 2013 in order to save Fairhaven United Methodist Church’s stained glass windows from continuing their age-related deterioration. The campaign was envisioned as a ten-year campaign to raise $200,000.00 that would enable all the windows in the church to be restored.
Thanks to our donors, the campaign has raised over $120,000.00
And we are now in the home stretch. There are four more windows that need to be restored, one of which is the centerpiece of the church sanctuary, the Good Shepard Window.
We come to you again and ask for your help in this final push to complete this important project and thank you for your support over the last six years.
