BILL DAVIDSON, ORGANIST/PIANIST FOR CRAFTON AND CARNEGIE and 2015 Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artists’ Competition winner, has two major recitals coming up.

The first is Sunday, October 25 at 3:00 PM and is part of his required coursework for his master’s degree at CMU. It will feature piano concertos by Bach and Brahms. This concert is free.

The second is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Concert Society for its’ competition winners, features music of Chopin, Bach, and Debussy, and will be Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM. Tickets for the second concert are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for children.

Both concerts will be at the Kresge Theatre in the Fine Arts Building at Carnegie Mellon University.

Peg is planning on attending the first (sadly can’t make the second but hopes some folks can) and will be at Carnegie’s parking lot at 1:30 on Oct 25 if anyone would like to car pool/caravan.  Come on out and cheer Bill on!

Crafton UMC Sock Collection

Once more we make an appeal for our veterans!

For several years, Crafton UMC has donated new, white, cotton crew socks for use by our veterans in hospitals in the area.

We work with an organization called Caring and Sharing.  They help provide the personal items which are not covered by insurance or the government.

Our church has donated approximately 2000 pairs of crew socks during the time we have been involved with Caring and Sharing, and they are so appreciative.

There is a sock box in the back of our sanctuary or you can give a monetary donation to Crafton UMC and they can make the purchase.

Sunday, September 13 will be the cut-off date for donations.

confirmation sunday

Confirmation Sunday May 17

May 17 will be a joyous day for three of our Partnership churches as we welcome new confirmands to our congregations.

Over the past year, young people from the Spencer, Crafton, and Castle Shannon churches have been meeting together weekly to learn about the beliefs and practices of the Christian faith through a unique Confirmation Program called “Credo”.

There has also been time for games, service, and growing closer together as Christians.

It’s a great group, and we hope you’ll join us to affirm and support them as they make this next step in their faith in Jesus and become confirmed members of our churches.
