God of the Journey,
as we prepare to walk the road with Jesus
as we take the path that leads to Jerusalem, to a cross on a hill, to a tomb of stone, and then….
Open our hearts, open our souls, open our very beings.
In the busyness of the preparation help us to see for ourselves how you are with us as the road darkens.
May we remember that we need to experience the darkness of the road to get to the glory that lies beyond.
As we prepare, open the old stories and songs of faith to our 21st century eyes,
that we would see what they have to tell us about our lives today.
