    • Stained Glass Window Reinstalled

      Rich Cummings provided the following details regarding the new stained glass window.

      • The window was reinstalled August 20 and it took 11 hours.
      • The cost of the restoration was $38,500 and it took 14 week to complete.
      • The window was taken to the studio of Kelly Art Glass where it was taken apart pane by pane. Each pane was cleaned and the lead supports were resaudered.
      • This restoration was necessary due to the fact that the lead supports were failing, causing the support of the whole window to be placed on the bottom window panes which were cracking under the additional stress.
      • This restoration was made possible by a grant from the Pittsburgh History and Landmark Foundation and individual donors.

    • First Food and Friends Needs Help

      Volunteers are needed the first Saturday of every month to go to First United Methodist Church from 8:45-12:30ish.

      Come help us prepare a good meal for the clients! No experience necessary.

      Sunday Service was led by Peg Bowman and the Sermon was titled “What’s In A Name”.

    • Hilltop United Methodist Church Fire

      Hill Top

      Hilltop United Methodist Church was heavily damaged on August 28, 2014 by a devastating fire.

      Hilltop is one of the churches in our South Hills Partnership and is a vital part of the Allentown community.

      Please pray for the church members and our Pastoral staff.
